july 14, 2007 batch 8T2 silver jubillee

weather condition: hot and humid.

mood: excited, anxious. adrenaline rushing

the diccion's (jerry and jeffrey, 8T2) came by at home, as planned, to take me and my daughters to the reunion venue (thank you so much!!!). it was held at the Amoranto Sports Complex (Multi Purpose Hall).

we were 3o minutes late. the program had already started and we arrived, at the same time, with the incoming principal Dr. Melanio Austria, former MRHS PE teacher.

romela ramos was just done giving her "R, R, R" speech when we got in. me and my girls were welcomed with a flower lanyard (if that's how one calls it) by the vice reunion chair. my brother beto greeted us as well. i got a warm hi and hug from edwin clemente and a kiss and hug from rodel martinez.

me and my girls were seated together with the admin people. jerry was supposed to seat with us but he requested he'd stay with his brother jeffrey.

the program continued on with a dance rendered by some 8T2 members (george, mercedes, mayumi, forgot the names of the other dancers). awesome and graceful!

after the dance, dr. luningning milan, outgoing principal gave a speech and then joy panlilio-baltazar introduced me for my talk.

i gave a talk about the roles of alumni - MRHS Alumni: Move Forward, Give Back. in the end i surprised the 8T2 community with a song "Bakit"

am impressed with the overall setup, the stage, tables, buffet etc. it was well attended i must say. lots of 8T2 from afar - - to mention some, Maynard Adea from Switzerland, Rodel Martinez Canada, and many from the US. despite drawbacks, still, it took them to multi-purpose hall to celebrate their silver jubillee. lots of sweat and tears, on and off decisions but they pulled through.

great to see Ms. Aguirre who remains single, Ms. Besabe (now Ms Vega), Ms. Mendoza. i introduced myself to Dr. Melanio Austria and had a little chat at the table. food was great!

jerry and i didn't have the chance to stay longer to watch half of the program. my daughters started acting up - - couldn't blame them tho'; their little bodies adjusting to the time and weather, so we took them home. we did come back to the reunion but it was over by 10:30 pm.

heard that there were games and dancing, giveaways and fun stuff.

I got a shirt!
